Whether you call it Carnival or Mardi Gras, many different krewes, groups, and individuals play a key role in creating this magical time of year. In this presentation, we will take a closer look at the photographs included in the exhibition Making Mardi Gras. The images not only explore traditions, such as papier-mâché float building, but also show the creative vibrancy and energy of walking krewes and Black masking culture.
